I don't follow state politics closely. Is there an easy way to learn more?

Lots of people don’t follow state politics, and for good reason! Our state government is the least transparent and least effective in the country. We are the only state where the office of the governor, the legislature, and the judiciary have all exempted themselves from public records laws.

To make matters worse, we can’t even see how our state representatives vote in committee, so they can publicly say one thing and then vote the opposite way behind closed doors. Out of all fifty states, Massachusetts passes the lowest number and percentage of bills.

For more information on dysfunction and lack of transparency in the State House, check out actonmass.org and this video on how your representatives vote.
